How to start up a Blog for Blogging

The best way to start blogging is to set up a Google mail email account, if you type gmail into Google or any search engine such as yahoo, bing etc you will be taken to the Googlemail page, fill in all the required information which is easy to follow, once complete you will go to your new Google mail email account.

Open a new Internet browsing window (search engine such as google) and then type into google, blogspot.com, this will now take you to the blogger homepage, once there you will see you can log in to your Googlemail account, by doing this you are now also logging into blogger.

Select the option to create blog, on the create blog page choose a Main title for your blog, this can be altered later although you are best picking a good one to start with. It is often also better if you type the name you would like as your title into the check blog address > URL bar and then click check availability. If you desired blog name is available as a URL then go back to the top and choose your title as the same as the URL.

When all is done you will be asked to select a template for your blog or a background, the first one called simple is the easiest to use and helps you learn more quickly. after you have selected your blog template you will be asked to start blogging, when you go into the start blogging option it will open a window with a small box and a bar at the top for another title, this title is the name of your first post or your first article. again you can alter this later should you require. This title is for a subject and not your main title for the blog, do not pick the same one again unless that is what you prefer.

Fill in the title and then move down into the main box and simply start to type what it is you would like to blog about. You can add video, pictures and much more to your blog there is options at the top of the box, if you hover over with your mouse cursor they will explain what each option does.

These options are basic but are enough to get you started. Blogger also has a help forum and a help tab at the top right hand corner of the screen, so if you are unsure about anything click help and type your problem.

It's that simple to get it up and going, once you have written your first post you can then click publish, your first post is now live and will be viewable right away. A good blog can get tens of thousands of visitors per week if your content is good and your subject interesting. You can also ad Google adsense which is advertisements placed on your blog, you can get paid for having these but normally they are not much use until you blog starts to get thousands of visitors.

Why does my new iMac not recognize my gmail account?


John you may need to go into your "settings" on your iMac and configure your gmail account there.

look for the Settings icon on your workspace
click and look for Mail
Open mail and you should see Accounts and further down a choice to "add account"
Then choose which mail application you want to use, Google mail, yahoo, etc.
open google or gmail and type in your info.
These settings should get you started to use your gmail.

Transfer Email to a Different Server

Each of the free-email providers has its own server on which to store the emails in its system. Gmail from Google, Hotmail from Microsoft, Yahoo! mail from Yahoo! and the rest all run their own servers, and one account from one server cannot go into another from a different server.

So if you've switched from Yahoo! to Gmail and want to get all the emails stored in the Yahoo! server over to the Google server, you have to transfer that email data.

Luckily, since the services are free, transferring the email is also free.
Log into your email account in the server that you are looking to transfer to.

So if you are transferring from Yahoo! to Gmail, log into your Gmail account.
Click on the "Settings" or "Option" button for your email address and then click the "Accounts" or "Accounts and Imports" button to look at the accounts.


Click on the "Import from another account" or "Add account" buttons and then type in the log-in information for the account that you want to transfer the emails from.
In the example given, you are transferring from Yahoo! to Gmail so you will need to type in your Yahoo! log-in information.

Wait for the server to transfer all of the contacts and email from the old server (Yahoo!) to the new server (Gmail).

Get My Yahoo Mail Moved to My Gmail Account

Nearly everyone has multiple email accounts for different purposes, and occasionally you may need to transmit information from one account to another.

Gmail makes it easy to import data from other Internet email providers via the TrueSwitch email migration service.

You can use TrueSwitch to migrate all of your Yahoo email data without even leaving the Gmail program window.

Navigate to the Gmail website and log in to your Gmail account.
Click the "Tools" icon in the upper right corner of the program window and click "Mail settings" in the drop-down menu.


Click the "Accounts and Import" tab in the settings window.
Click the "Import mail and contacts" button to start the mail import wizard.


Type your Yahoo email account address in the text field and click the "Continue" button.
Type your Yahoo email account password in the text field and click the "Continue" button.


Check the box next to each type of data that you want to import from your Yahoo email account. You can choose to import contacts, mail, and new mail that you receive within 30 days.
You can also specify a label that you want attached to all imported mail. Click the "Start Import" button.

The TrueSwitch service will begin importing the desired data.
It may take between several hours and two days for all of your data to be imported from your Yahoo account.

Create a Live email account
Windows Live is a group of services offered by Microsoft on the Internet and through mobile Web browsers.

Users can sign up for Windows Live and access all of the services, including a calendar, messenger, social groups and parental controls.

When signing up for Windows Live, new users can choose to create a free Live.com email address.

Navigate to the Windows Live sign-up page.

Type a screen name in the "Windows Live ID" box and click "Check Availability" to see if the name is in use.

Choose the name carefully as this will be your email address.

You can use your new email address to sign into Flickr, Yahoo Answers, Messenger and a variety of games and fantasy sports leagues.

Click the "Sign Up" link that appears below the "Sign In" option on the Yahoo homepage to create a new account.

Enter your name, gender, address and birth date on the appropriate lines.
Choose your Yahoo username.

Your username will also be your email address.
Make sure "Yahoo.com" is selected from the drop-down list next to the email address.

Click the "Check" button to see if your desired email address is available.
Enter your desired password on both of the required lines.

The password must be typed exactly the same on both lines.
You will see a "Password Strength" bar indicating how difficult your password will be for a hacker to guess.

Select a "secret question" from the drop-down menu.
Yahoo will use this question to verify your identity if you lose your password.

Enter the answer to the question you chose from the menu.
Repeat this process to choose your second "secret question" and answer.

There is also an optional line where you can enter an alternate email address for Yahoo to send you password resetting instructions.

Enter the letters and numbers displayed in the image on the screen into the "image verification" line.

This proves that you are a human and not an automated script designed to open new Yahoo accounts.

Click the "Create My Account" button when you are finished completing all of the input boxes. You will then see your account details displayed on the screen.

You can print this page for your records, if needed.
Click "Continue" to proceed to your new email account.

Check your mobile phone for your verification code or answer your telephone and write down the verification code given in the recorded message.

Type the verification code in the text field labeled "Enter your code" and click "Verify."
Wait while Gmail sets up your new account.

Click the button "Show me my account."
You can now send and receive emails using your new Gmail account.

i cant get into my email account. the last time 1-8-2011 i had to ans. a security question in order to get in. the next time i tried it asked for me to ans the temp. question, but did not state what the question was. i have submitted several reset my password forms to no avail. do you know how i can access a person to actually talk to?


You have not mention the email service providers name. Is it Yahoo? Is it MSN mail? or Is it a gmail? account.
  1. In any case we are looking for a "Customer care" or "Customer support" or "Customer service" (these terms are essentially the same) live representative such as "customer support live person" This key word along with the email account service provider name such as Yahoo can be used to search on a good search engine like Google.
  2. You can construct a keyword to search on Google like this "Customer Support live representative for MSN". if your email acound is like "xyz@msn.com" I am sure you will come across many websites which will give you information on that. There will be many official emails etc.
  3. Insist on live services such as chat and preferably telephone contact is much effective and convenient. Blogs are very helpful also to gain this kind of information.

How to set up a Blueyonder.co.uk e-mail account on my new samsung wave phone


Hi,

Step to setup an email account on Samsung wave:
1. Press Menu
2. Select My Accounts
3. Choose the type of email account you want to configure . For Gmail, select "Google "
4. Enter your e - mail address and password and click " Next "
5. A new window pops up. Select apply without making any changes.


You will need to configure your Gmail for IMAP or POP pushing first before authorization is given to your Wave to accept the pushed mail.

Login to Gmail -> Setting (top right hand corner) -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP -> Check Enable POP for all mail arriving from now on and check Enable IMAP.

You are done with configuring GMail side.

Now, add your google mail account under "My Account".

Enter your email (username will be filled up automatically), then your password.

Next, when you hit the next screen, DO NOT CONFIGURE ANYTHING. Simply "Set".


Make sure u have POP and SMTP enabled in your mail account before you try this and yahoo users make sure u enter your mail address as that of your domain
example : someone@yahoo..co.xx
where xx can be something like uk or us or in etc
