How to Repair a Driver Problem in a Laptop

    Windows Vista
  1. Open "Start" and click "All Programs." Select "Windows Update." Type in your account password if the operating system prompts you for it.
  2. Click the "Check For Updates" link. Select "View Available Updates" and check to see if any drivers are listed for your laptop. Click the specific driver you want to update.
  3. Click "Install." Restart the laptop after the installation finishes and see if the driver problem is resolved. Return to the "Start" menu and click "Control Panel" if the problem persists.
  4. Select "System and Maintenance." Click the "Update Device Driver" link underneath the "Device Manager" heading.
  5. Find the specific device that isn't working properly in the list of available devices. Right-click the device and choose "Update Device Driver."
  6. Windows XP
  7. Right-click the "My Computer" icon on the desktop. Click "Manage," then select "Device Manager."
  8. Scroll through the list of hardware devices being used by your laptop. Find the specific device that is having a driver problem.
  9. Right-click the name of the device and choose "Properties." Navigate to the "Driver" tab.
  10. Click "Update Driver." Select "OK" to repair the driver problem.

My Toshiba statellite pro U400 is not connecting to the internet. I use windows vista. My laptop has stopped connecting to the internet and I know it is my laptop as the other computers in my home are connecting to our wireless connection. I have scanner LEXMARK X2690 How can I use it to scan a file?


Follow this steps on how to scan docs/files
> open the top cover, load original document facedown on the scanner glass.
>close the top cover to avoid dark edges on the scanned docs
> Make sure printer is connected to computer and both printer and computer is on.
> From the printer control panel press scan
> Follow the instructions in computer screen.
If u are using Windows
> Repeat 1 and 2 on top instructions,
Do one of the following;
> In windows vista click select all programs and then select the printer program folder from lists.
> In Windows XP click start Programs or all programs and then select the printer program folder from the list.
> Click Lexmark Productivity Studio
> On the main screen click scan
> follow the instructions on the screen..

My printer will not scan


Open the top cover, and then load an original document facedown on the scanner glass.
Close the top cover to avoid dark edges on the scanned image.
Do one of the following:
• In Windows Vista, click All Programs, and then select the printer program folder from the list.
• In Windows XP, click Start Programs or All Programs, and then select the printer program folder from the list.
Click Lexmark Productivity Studio.
On the main screen, click Scan.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
