79 error is usually a firmware failure error on this model which needs the formatter board to be replaced.
To clairfy turi's instructions, do not put the card back in the printer. First see after the cold reset if it comes to ready and prints a test page. If it does you can then put the jetdirect card back in the printer with the power off and see if it works. If it does not then remove the card with the power off and do a search on this site for baking the card which works about 95% of the time.
Here some information that anyone can try. There was an issue with the 610N cards where the main chip on it developed cold solder joints. Same with the 615N however, it develops quite a few. There is a method which can be used to try to bring the card back to life. You need to remove the back plastic plate and then use 4 screws to prop the card up and place in a baking pan chips facing up. Preheat a good oven to 350F (177C). When ready put the pan with the card in the oven for 8 minutes. Remove and let it cool at room temperature for 30 minutes reattach the plastic plate and see what happens.
Only if the printer works without the network card. You then bake the network card.
