acer travelmate 2303wlmi wifi button use to show wireless enable and disable logos when pushed now it just shows no device and launch manager is installed

"drivers obtained from acer own support site for acer travelmate 2300
then checked with a driver updater which reported that iv got the latest
drvers for my system"

Not trying to sound like Mr.Negative here but;

1) http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=761

Wireless LAN Driver/Ambit/ KB/ 12/02/2008

That the one? So am I to assume you went to your Device Manager, and in Network Adapters, you found Ambit was the wireless module, manufacturer?

No? Doesn't say?
Then remove the AC adapter (Charger), and Battery. (Laptop off, and closed, 'natch)
Turn the laptop over, bottom side up, Battery Compartment facing away from you.

Open the Memory Compartment/Wireless Modem Compartment.
(Middle panel, two Philips head screws at bottom, rectangular slotted vent at bottom/right corner. Lift the panel up on the screw side )

Remove the Ram Memory modules, ('Stick')
What is the manufacturers name on the wireless modem?
Is it Ambit?

Or is it Atheros, or Intel?

Ambit wireless modem for a Sony laptop, used for an example,

It's upside down, but see Ambit?

2) How,....did you install? I want to know the procedure you used to INSTALL. A lot of people think that just downloading a driver, is the way to go. You have to install it also.

3) Never put much stock in the entities, that claim to know if you have all of the best drivers installed.

Had one that stated I had the best driver for my ATI graphics card, installed, but was so full of it, I can't begin to start...........

4) Service Pack 3. SP/3 has caused so many problems it isn't funny.

5) Physically see if the Wireless Modem's cables are plugged to it, (Or screwed)
I would remove the cables, (Make a MARK on each cable {Wire}, and a matching mark on the modem), and clean their connectors.
I would also do the same for the terminals on the wireless modem

Use a solid pencil eraser, and use air to remove the eraser dust, afterward.

{Cables, (Wires), MUST go back to the terminals on the Wireless Modem, that they belong to }

Would appreciate your results back in a Comment.
(When you get time, of course!)

Windows 7 does not detect the new secondary tray for my Dell 1720XL.

Your printer does not necessarily recognize the secondary tray in Windows 7. Try the following and see if this will access the tray. This instruction is for Windows Vista, but should work for your application:
  1. Click vista_start_button_0.jpg® Control Panel.

  2. Click Hardware and Sound.

  3. Click Printers.

  4. Right-click the Dell Laser Printer 1720 icon.

  5. Click Properties.

  6. Click Install Options.

  7. Click Ask Printer.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click OK, and then close the Printers folder.

In case of a problem or clarification or my solution was insufficient, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

If you are satisfied, rate my solution with the "thumbs" or (even better) add a testimonial.

HP 6110 printer, wrong paper size, add wider paper.

Can you please elaborate on the failure.

There is a possibility that you are having an application problem. Check the "Page Setup" in the application to make sure the application is calling for the correct size paper.
