The main reason is that major consumer electronic shows present new and upcoming devices in the month of January, and most of retailers start around in the month of April to make room for these new devices by marking down current inventory.

was considering buying a laptop off eBay but the person took the 80gig out and put in a 30gig and it's acting erratic ... I'm just gonna pass on this one ... thank you for you're advice though =)

You can always open a case directly with eBay for items not received or not matching their original description:
Otherwise, if you don't want to deal with all of that, just upgrade the hard drive yourself : ) And if that's beyond your expertise, you may be able to buy a replacement hard drive and take it somewhere (Best Buy or a local computer shop?) and have someone replace it for you.

advent 4213 bought from currys went for repair and got it back saying activate windows xp . my id has been pirated and cant read product key code . microsoft been no help tech guys say have to buy it..should it not have come back working without this problem

the program must have been erased by the repair shop sometimes they requirer the xp disk to finish up your pc if you didn't include it then you go it back fixed but with out xp installed ( its a licence thing with microsoft)
