Tip & How-To about Health & Beauty

Shaving tips. It's best to avoid shaving the very first thing in the morning. If possible, let your skin wake up a while. This allows the "puffiness" you encounter from fluids collecting in your skin during the night to recede, thus allowing you to get a closer shave when you do begin the task.

Should I stretch and relax my skin whilst shaving?

The best way to shave your beard is close, but not too close. Excessive pulling and stretching of the skin causes the hair to protrude a bit farther out than normal. Shaving over stretched skin may cut the hairs below the surface of resting skin, thus increasing the risk of ingrown hairs.

Can I shave first thing in the morning?

When you wake up in the morning your skin is puffy and swollen. If you decide to shave in the morning you should wait at least 20 minutes after you have woken up before you shave to let the puffiness go down and your skin to get into his normal condition.
