I should bring a present to my mother in law. I'm thinking to buy her a perfume. How can i chose a fragrance for someone else?

A good rule of thumb is to stay with a classic fragrance. A fragrance that has been on the market for decades is not as risky as new fragrances on the market. The age of the recipient can also influence your choice. If you are purchasing for a women of college age, Potion, Eternal, or Desire may be appropriate. If you are purchasing for a more mature woman, Amber, Opoponax, or Innocence may be a good choice. Lighter floral fragrances are acceptable to almost everyone. Heavier perfumes with oriental notes are more risky. To guarantee the correct fragrance, give a gift certificate and sample the fragrances at a later time.

A friend told me that a prefume can sometimes influence moods..it is true?

Yes, various studies show that fragrances can influence moods. Some studies show the impact scents have on moods may come partly from memories they invoke. Therefore, a mood change may vary from person to person or at different times. A pleasant fragrance can both soothe and stimulate.

What are the top 10 women perfumes of 2010?

Hi, this is very subjective question. Anyway, I'm willing to try..:) #1
At number 1, the Lovely Perfume, from *** and the City's Sarah Jessica Parker is what we are putting at number 1.

#2
At #2, I'm including the Armani Code Pour Femme. This is a top selling fragrance, and is slightly more expensive than Lovely. It is a fragrance that is sure to leave a lasting impression on the wearer. It has a nice bottle, and the fragrance has notes of interesting ingredients, such as orange, ginger, sandalwood, and even honey! It is truly a sexy and sophisticated perfume, perfect for mom or sister.
#3
They say that diamonds are forever, and they truly are! At #3, we place the Armani Diamonds. This is truly a sensual and alluring aroma. If you are glamorous, you need this!
#4
At #4, the Calvin Klein Euphoria holds the position. This is a fragrance that makes all the difference, and is truly luxurious and a stunningly versatile scent.

#5
At #5, we have the popular Calvin Klein Eternity. This is a nice fragrance, which is better for the mature lady. Try this amazing combination of wild potent flowers, and delicate fruit.

#6
Diesel's Fuel for Life takes the number 6 position. This has a nice bottle, and is also a powerfully pretty perfume. A nice Christmas present for the woman in her 20's.

#7
Vera **** Flower Princess holds the #7 position. This is a nice bright pink heart-shaped bottle, and looks great on any dresser. This is a sweet and fruity floral fragrance.

#8
Elle Perfume is at 8, and Yves St Laurent's latest women's scent, 'Elle'. If you have a best friend, this is the fragrance to get them.

#9
At 9, we have Opium Perfume, and again, this is made by Yves St Laurent. This is a best seller. It has been around since 1977, so holds a good position since it was released. Though it still holds a good position.

#10
Kenzo Flower Perfume hits 10, and is a great Japanese item. It delivers as a strong and pure fragrance, that you will remember. It is an all round winner.

What are Eau De Toilette, Eau De Parfum, etc?

These terms refer to the strength of the fragrance, or more specifically, to how much high grade alcohol and/or water has been added to the fragrance oils. Parfum (generally the most concentrated form you can buy) has 15-25% perfume oil dissolved in alcohol. Any mixture with a lower proportion of oil to alcohol is an eau (water).

Eau Fraiche (Usually 3% or less perfume oil)
Eau de Cologne (2 - 5% perfume oil)
Eau de Toilette (4 - 10% perfume oil)
Eau de Parfum (8 - 15% perfume oil)
Soie de Parfum (15 - 18% perfume oil)
PARFUM or Perfume (15 - 25% - also sometimes referred to as extract or extrait)
Perfume oil (15-30% perfume oil in an oil rather than alcohol base)

You may also see the term Parfum de Toilette. Most companies use this term to describe a concentration that is either the same as Eau De Parfum, or between Eau De Parfum and Parfum. Other companies use the term to describe an Eau De Toilette concentration.
To further confuse matters, some companies use different notes, or different proportions of notes, in the different forms of fragrance they offer. In addition, some companies reserve costly fragrance oils for their parfum, and use synthetic substitutes in lighter concentrations.
