NETGEAR WG311V problem solved

Hi folks! I have faught for 2 hours on this issue and for the life of me could not find answers or better yet a solution on the net that could solve this issue. One of my older computers has ran XP forever and FINALLY i decided to upgrade to vista, when i did i ran into a problem getting my wireless card " netgear wg311v" to work it always said some kind of erroe code 10 or this or that! I tried everything reinstalled every driver i could find for vista, even tried it in xp compatible and so on! the fix i found was very very simple! i felt DUMB!! considering i am nearly a guru with computers. but i simply uninstalled everything to it! took out the card, rebooted, loaded the drivers for it that are WINDOWS 7 compatible, shut down and installed the card to a different PCI slot and boom!! it worked!!. i dont know that the windows 7 driver helped or not, maybe could have used the vista driver or version 3.1 but i believe the main thing was that i installed the card into a different PCI slot!! Its no really huge discovery, but it worked and i havent seen any other post that verified a working solution so i just thought i would share!! thanks!

RAM upgrading

You have 3 banks of 2..... Max is 6GB
you'll need PC 133 ECC SDRAM DIMMs

put them in using matched pairs is recommended
i also think i would not purchase the cheapest memory...middle to better memory so that it will work without hassles.
these folks have what you need doesn't seem to be a bad price for Brand memory...you may want to look some more.
Hope this answers what you wanted to know,
please leave rating... thankyou
