Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Numbers Come Up Instead of Letters

This a very common issue faced by a technical support like me. What happens is that when you type any random letters the output will numbers from 1-0 in exact order. For example, you type "qwertyuiop" on the address bar, what comes up is "1234567890" and if you continue typing, it will start from 1 again in numeric sequence until you're done. Not until lately. I have just discovered how to resolve it. First, I thought it was a problem with OS - Windows Update incompatibility, so I reinstalled my OS and set the computer back to factory state but as windows updates were installed same issue happened. By the way this issue only happens on browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc.. On my laptop, I have a software called ID VAULT. I uninstalled the ID VAULT thinking that I have no use of that and also it made me think that the problem can be caused by either a browser or a security software which conflicts with windows updates. Aside from the ID VAULT I also uninstalled my Google Chrome Browser and just used Mozilla Firefox. So guys if ever you encounter an issue like this, look for either software (ID VAULT or Google Chrome) and try typing an email or anything at all on your browser.

***Note: if you only have a Google Chrome browser make sure you install a different browser first before uninstalling Google Chrome. Also, this trick doesn't work for laptops whose NumLock is enabled.
