Here at FixYa, we have our community members solve problems dealing with all kinds of devices. I had a recent problem with my Xbox 360 and when I checked at the amount of problems associated with Video Games Console, I came to a surprising discovery:

Complaints about Xbox 360 Vs. Nintendo Wii

The Amount of Problems and Complaints about Xbox 360 is almost 3X the that of the Nintendo Wii.

Some might claim that the higher number of flaws in the 360 is due to the fact that it was introduced to the market a year and a half before the Wii, causing the average age of a 360 console to be older than the average Wii.

However this fact is somewhat offset when looking at the number of consoles out there – As of today there are 30% more Wii than Xbox360, much more Wii consoles to break down.

A 3X difference is really shocking, but I still thought it couldn't be as bad as it seemed. I thought the problems must be from people complaining about some trivial issues, but when I actually checked the Top problem on the Xbox, I found this:

The Red Circle Of Death:

Condition: When you turn on the Xbox you get a blank screen, a clack sound and 3 red lights on the front start that flash.

Result: Death. Or not being able to do anything with your Xbox.

Other frequent problems:

Showing picture but no sound – TV goes blank but you can still hear sound

2 red lights – XBOX turns off – Console is overheated and stops working.

Error E74 – Hardware malfunction – System hardware problem.

XBOX not reading Games – Lens gone bad.

Seriously? Those are some mean problems!

I checked what the Wii's Biggest Problem was:

Wii Remote doesn’t work:

Solutions: Resync it, Slap it or just Change the batteries…

Other frequent ones:

Forgetting password – Forgetting Secret question and password.

Ejecting disk – Disk tray doesn’t open up.

Unable to get into Wii Settings – Firmware issues.

It just comes to show you that the Xbox 360 is a beast and it has a lot of beast-sized problems while the Wii is a pretty simple machine.

The Wii scores another point; just feed it fresh batteries and it’s as reliable as a good old Atari!
