There’s no doubt that
the iPhone has revolutionized the mobile world, reinventing the touch screen
and adding cool widgets in a simple yet slick interface.
However, the iPhone 1.0 also had several annoying and persistent problems which
hampered the experience and caused a lot of headaches to the average user.
I’ve looked into the FixYa database and pulled out the most common iPhone
problems. Steve, I hope you’re reading it this time…
IPhone
touch screen not working – Over 200 people complained that their touch
screen stopped working. For some it came from nowhere; other had a better
explanation (phone fell into the toilet). The iPhone definitely needs a more reliable
touch screen to keep customers satisfied.
SMSing – Looks
like neither sending SMS to multiple recipients nor forwarding an SMS are easy
tasks.SMS is way more popular than email,
especially in Europe and Asia. Apple needs to fix this feature and improve the user
interface.
No
YouTube for You – iPhone users love multimedia and surf the internet
through their mobile phone 50 times more than the average user. That’s why it
is so important to have the major websites run smoothly on the Apple gadget.
Viewing videos on YouTube turned out to be an impossible mission on the 1st
generation iPhone.
Toothache
– Bluetooth is by no means a new technology; how come Apple couldn’t make it work?
Outlook sync
issues - I’m not sure if this is the love/hate relationship between Steve
and Bill, but many iPhone customers who use outlook found it extremely
difficult to sync up their outlook to the iPhone. While there’s definitely a
way to do it, a simpler more seamless process is in need.
These are the 5 most popular iPhone 1.0 problems on FixYa. While it seems like the
SMS and Outlook problems have been resolved on the 2.0 version, we might have
to wait and see if Apple will fix the other problems in the future..

I plugged my iphone in last night to charge and turned it off, NOT powered down completely. When I got up this morning, it was off completely. When I tried turning it on, I only got the apple logo for a short while. When pressing both home and on button at same time, it comes on, then a brief flash of white and goes off. I also tried plugging it into computer with iTunes, did not recognize a phone attached.
