Tip & How-To about Clothing Accessories

Tip for shoe hygiene

Many people mistakenly think the odour produced from a shoe is the result of smelly feet. In a healthy person feet rarely produce any odour. The smell is the result of the material used in the construction of the shoe. Leather is very good at absorbing perspiration and extracting it through it's pores. Other materials are not so proficient at this. They absorb the sweat and bacteria over time but do not do a good job of extracting it. Therefore they will need regular cleaning, you can find a wealth of odour sprays for sale and other products for cleaning inside a shoe.

Well, I wear my men's UGG ascot slippers a lot. I do not wear socks with them when I do wear the shoes. After I wear them, I spray the UGG odor spray in the slippers to prevent lingering odor. However, they continue to smell and make my feet smell pretty bad also. I always make it a point to wash my feet before wearing them to prevent this from happening. Is there any way to clean the inside of the slippers?

The problem is the heat produced in the shoes. Since they are so warm many people's feet sweat in them making them smell, and the fur makes the smell stay. One suggestions would be to obviously wear socks, that's what I do with my uggs. If you would rather not wear socks then you can try washing them, but you can only do it by hand because the washer may ruin them. Be careful tho because they are easily ripped when wet. If that doesn't help enough then get odor eaters for shoes and use them when you aren't wearing them. If possible many people have started to replace the inserts in their uggs. I was considering Biozone for restrooms etc and I assumed,as your info.says that it would be odour free? Some I have seen are not odour free.Is it just a uv lamp system or is there some form of ozone generation??

the UV lamp does produce some ozone .. this one specifies .04 ppm .. thats not very much but might be detectable as a slight fresh air odor .. some other types use electrostatic filtering and some even have strong ozone generators .. ozone does kill bacteria, fungus and such and will freshen the air removing many odors but is not considered healthy in large or concentrated amounts or for prolonged periods .. the UV lamp will also kill bacteria and fungus without producing so much ozone.

Purifying Method: Photoplasma, UV, ions, and ozone.

the fridge is producing a bad odour from some

The odor is coming from the defrost liquid Throw it away and clean the interior of the refrigerator with detergent and remove moisture. Dry it by opening the door for about 3 or 4 hours and then set the
temperature control button at strong.

Smell in the air

If the smell is not electrical as JEShandyman was asking, but rather from something trapped in the lint filter you could try putting the unit under a box and put it on sanitize. Let it run for 30-60 minutes and see if that cleared up the problem. Washing and drying the filter first is a good idea.

You should never get a head ache from the smell the machine produces. The fresh air the machine produces reacts with the odors and contaminants in the environment and that can potentially create other smells. If that happens you should scale the machine back to a lower setting and take it very slowly and ramp it up day by day. This is something you should have been told by the person who sold you the machine to begin with.

I hope this helps.
