If your Whirlpool Duet Dryer makes a clicking sound then nothing happens, you most likely have a blown thermal fuse or the control board is bad. It is possible the lid switch is bad but I haven't seen this yet.
Please be aware that sometimes a blown thermal fuse indicates a overheat condition most likely caused by a restricted or blocked vent. Get your vents cleaned every 3-4 years. Lint buildup wreaks havoc with dryers and keeps me in business.
