Hi,

Guides like like this are only a temporary fix, due to the nature of the faults the mainboard needs to reflowed with solder again especially the gpu/cpu chips as thats where the main issues arise.

Or worse case, replacing the mainboard and the DVD drive.

So remember these guides are only temporary, why do you think MS extended the warranty by 2 years.

My personal recommendation if your outside of the warranty is to sell the console and put the money towards a brand new one, this way you get 3 years warranty that covers RRoD issues and 1 year for all other issues.
