Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Cleaning out Temporary File folder made easy

Create a text file called "Clean Temp Folder.cmd" in a convenient location.
Paste the following content into the file and save:

echo off
echo Cleans out the System Temporary file folder
echo off
pause
Del "%HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\Temp\*.*" /s/f
Del "%HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\Temp\*.*" /ah
pause

Close the file and double-click to execute it. You will be asked to confirm deletion of the files, including hidden files. It does not clean out sub folders and their contents located in the temp folder. If you haven't done this in a long time you freed up quite some drive space and picked up some speed.

HOW CAN I PRINT FOLDER CONTENTS SIMILLAR TO THE DOS CAOMMAND TREE > PRN

Go to start button. In the start menu click RUN and in the box that opens type "cmd"
In the CLI go to the directory of the folder whose content you want to print and type the following and press enter to create list.txt file first before printing.

dir /b /s /on >list.txt

This will give you a text file (list.txt) in the folder, that you
can manipulate, print etc. in a text editor or
word processor. In order to redirect the output
directly to your printer, instead of a text file, type:

dir /b /s /on >prn

hp g6000 running very slow any suggestions.

The HP g6000 slow issue can be caused by many many reasons such as outdated hardware, overload startup programs, corrupt registry issues, too many junks, virus attack, poor security software taking too much system resources, remnants of uninstalled applications etc. The fact is, you should keep some system maintenance job regularly. If you don't want to do these manually, try the solution http://www.speeduphp.com/fix-slow-hp.html to give a free & full scan of your slow HP PC to find & fix all possible issues.

Meanwhile, upgrading hardware configuration (add RAM, change a new video card, larger-volume HDD etc) can be a fast yet effective way to improve your pc performance.
