How to Help HP Pavilion Laptop Power Battery Using Problems

Hp laptop users might experience that the battery is overheated, or the laptop battery suddenly stop charging. Sometimes, the battery health "good" but the battery does not hold a charge, etc. So, how to fix these problems?
First of all, you know that the most common type of AC power adapter involves a small box, with one wire to go to the computer and another wire to go to the wall. There is usually an LED light on it, to tell you that it is on. When your laptop doesn't work, you need to troubleshoot the AC power supply, system board and the battery are functioning correctly. The battery is an important part. It supplys power to the input-side of the voltage regulators, just like the power from the AC adapter. Additionally, there is a charging circuit, which uses the power from the AC adapter prior to the voltage regulators, to charge the battery. (By the way, this is why the AC adapter voltage is always rated higher than the battery's rated volatge-- you need higher voltage for charging.)
Verify the Hp laptop battery like this:
1. Insert the battery into the battery compartment on the bottom of the notebook PC.
2. Connect the AC power supply and allow the battery to charge for 15 to 30 minutes.
NOTE: The power LED, located near the power icon (displayed as a lightening bolt on most PCs) , should glow while the battery is charging.
3. Unplug the AC power adapter cord from the notebook PC.
4. Press and release the Power button to start the computer using only the battery as the power source.
If the PC does not power on, then the battery needs to be replaced. Contact HP service and support for further assistance.
If the notebook PC does power on, the battery is functioning, however you should run the HP Battery Check utility to evaluate the battery's health.
NOTE: If you have purchased a second battery for your notebook PC or you have access to an identical battery, you can also check the battery by inserting the second battery into the PC and performing the Troubleshoot the battery steps again.
Your new HP laptop battery comes in a discharged condition and must be charged before use (refer to your computer manual for charging instructions). Upon initial use (or after a prolonged storage period) the battery may require two to three charge/discharge cycles before achieving maximum capacity. When charging HP laptop battery replacement for the first time your computer may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes. This is a normal phenomenon with rechargeable batteries. Simply remove the battery from the computer and repeat the charging procedure.
It is important to condition (fully discharge and then fully charge) HP replacement laptop battery every two to three weeks. Failure to do so may significantly shorten the battery's life (this does not apply to Li-ion batteries, which do not require conditioning). To discharge, simply run your device under the battery's power until it shuts down or until you get a low battery warning. Then recharge the battery as instructed in your user's manual. If replacement HP laptop battery will not be in use for a month or longer, it is recommended that it be removed from the device and stored in a cool, dry, clean place. It is normal for HP laptop replacement battery to become warm during charging and discharging.
How to solve the batery can't be charged?
Possible Reasons:
a.The battery has no voltage.
b.There is problem with charger, as it has no output electric current.
c.Low charging efficiency due to external cause.
Best Solutions:
a.Test whether the charger has voltage and output electric current or not.
b.Check if the charger is well contacted with battery.
c.Activate the battery with voltage and current 1.5 time higher then the highest ones of battery. (Use this method only when the battery can't be charged.)

Help!!! Is my laptop battery broken?

99% charge is still pretty good so I'm not sure whether the HP health check is accurate. The only way to check is to unplug the mains voltage and see how long the laptop goes until it shuts down. This will help REFORM the battery to a degree and MAY restore your missing 1% of charge capacity. If the battery lasts more than 1.5 hours it's still pretty useable - why spend? Also if you do decide to buy a brand new battery and the old one lasts the best part of an hour you could keep it as a backup. Good luck.

Hiiiiiiiii......my hp dv6-2165tx battery does not charge properly.......when i plugged in it shows charging but after some time it shows not charging &plugged in.........why

Hello,
You may need to diagnose the status of your battery.
Press control+Shift+Delete to do so. Make sure it is plugged in.
If it reports the health is good, then it is the heat sink responsible for the problem. Get your laptop serviced at the service centre.
If it says primary battery not detected and health 'Replace', your battery may be old enough to be replaced.
If the battery backup has reduced drastically within past few days, then you need to get the battery replaced.
your battery may be covered in your HP warranty.

One thing you need to know is that, plugged in & not charging is a safety step taken by HP to ensure that your computer doesn't get overheated. So, you don't need to worry much unless it is persistant.
Again, kindly use your laptop while keeping it on a hard surface so that the processor fan & exhaust doesn't get blocked.
Reagards.

The laptop suddenly stops working . Sometimes after one hour, sometimes after 4 hours. Like you shut down the TV. What is wrong?

THis is called hanging. Most common cause is your display driver. Try re-installing the display driver and see if that fixes it.
