Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet
ARGH! I lost my computers passwords for everything! This is for Windows Users only.
If your computer is using a genuine operating system, and you bought it in full package with the operating system, use your system disk. Slip the disk into your cd drive on startup. Some BIOS configurations (systems) automatically boot from the cd. Some have to be told to do so manually but if you lost your bios password, take out the bios battery (on the motherboard) which is a round silver one and wait 30 sec. then put back and boot. Make sure you are grounded! Most times it should work. This solution is for people with desktops. Unexperienced computer hobbiests/technicians might do something wrong with the laptop and screw it up.. Sometimes you can even press a button and the boot menu will show up. From there, choose 'BOOT FROM CD' with the system disc inside. When prompted from the cd, choose 'restore' or somthing. This will go back to previouse settings of which hopefully you didn't have a password. REMEMBER! You need to create the backup. That's a different story. If there isn't one unfortunatly you must pick Install Windows. If you lost your system cd or don't have one, you can buy or download a boot cd. If you choose to download it is a risky move. That' also a different story. I'll adress those for you guys in other posts. If you have urgent questions, send me an e-mail at email@example.com!
