clear bios password on acer aspire 722 2gb ram

look up a disassembly video for your laptop on youtube by typing your laptop model into the search bar followed by "disassembly". Only disasseble far enough to gain access to the button cell battery on the motherboard. Looks about like a shiny nickle. Remove the battery and reassemble the laptop without inserting the button cell battery. Before putting the main laptop battery back in or plugging it in, press the power button for about 10 seconds, then let the computer sit for about 2 minutes to make sure all power has drained from the laptop. Now put in the main laptop battery and start the computer up. You should now be able to enter the bios without entering the password. Remove or turn off the bios password, don't forget to save the settings before exiting the bios. Re - disassemble the laptop and re - insert the button cell battery and re- assemble the laptop. You should be good to go.

My system is password locked and I cannot remember the bios password

You cannot bypass the password security yourself. If you could there would be no point in having password security on all our devices.

reset bios password

Computer unplugged from power, Anti-Static Procedures FOLLOWED, remove the CMOS battery, and press the Power On button in.

Hold in for a count of 10 seconds.
Let go.
Do this procedure two more times.

There are no jumper pins on the motherboard for this.
It is not like the newer laptops, that have a Capacitor, or capacitors; that store a small residual charge of electricity, indefinitely.

(Some of the laptops you temporarily jump across two copper contact pads, and this removes that residual charge of power.
Some of the laptops do not have that feature, though)

Leave the CMOS battery out for an hour, or 24 hours?

No.
That's just crazy.
You press the Power On button as described above, and you will have cleared the BIOS password in a matter of seconds.
