Tip & How-To about Microsoft Windows XP Professional

System restore

I always wanted to warn the people not to turn off the System restore cause if one day if anything happens to the comp you can always restore the computer to a certain date and find the prob!

If you want to check whether it is on

  1. go to control panel
  2. System
  3. and then select system restore
  4. Check whether all the hard drive are monitored

During gameplay on the playstation 3 it freezes and wont respond to anything, you have to turn it off and restart the whole system, Please help!?

Im sure there can be many causes for this to happen, it happened to me alot recently, however i suspected my ps3 was just clogged from the enormous amount of media and whatnot i had stored/saved on it, so i backed up the essentials and then formatted the uvnit, only to restore the game saves and other vitals, and now i have no problems whatsoever... i will warn you it takes quite some time and not everything always gets backed up so double check... good luck let me know how it works!

my wireless is not working. when i hit fn+f2 nothing happens. it keeps saying I need to connect a cable. it was working a couple of days ago and i don't know what i did to it. recently i got a omnitech flexible keyboard, could this be the problem?

I would disconnect the laptop and run system restore, and turn back the system a few days and see if the system comes back to normal. To get to system restore, click on start button > programs > accessories > system tools > system restore. This will only restore the laptop back as far as you want, this is not a complete "you lose everything", this will only go back a few days if that is what you want.

You may want to try reinstalling the software disk, if there is one. Otherwise, there is always the good ole reboot. If you have a newer model operating system, you can go back in time to try and fix stuff.
Go to the control panel > and under the system maintenance there is a "system restore" either on a list or on the left side. Go ahead and try clicking and restoring to a few months ago to see if that works. Note: This will NOT delete any emails or files...the only thing, if any, that it will delete will be malware or recent programs you downloaded, but all your personal items will not be changed.
After you do this, try it again. If it didn't work, you can ALWAYS go back to the current day the same way you went back, and it will be like nothing happened.
I do this first because of convenience.
Let me know if this helps.
