wet grass will stick to the inside of the deck. try to clean it real good and let it dry. try not to mow in wet grass if possible or it will happen again.

Why does it bog down in grass maybe 6 " high?

The likely cause of this is that the grass is too high for your mowers deck. You should try just mowing about 1/3 of the blade at a time (if you can) until you reach your desired length, so if you grass is 6" high, only take off about 2" at first to reduce the stress on your mower. Set your mower deck to it's highest setting and give it a shot.

Also, be sure that the blades are sharp, and if you don't have mulching blades, you should get some! Grass this high will leave long clippings on the lawn which can suffocate the grass, mulching blades will chop up the clippings into smaller pieces, which is beneficial for your lawn!

Finally, make sure you aren't mowing wet grass. If you mow when the grass is wet the clippings can stick together and clump up under the mowing deck which will cause excess strain to the mower and maybe even cause it to shut off.

If none of this works, you may want to use a string trimmer to remove the first two inches of your grass and then continue mowing as normal!

Hope this helps! Happy Mowing!

Having a hard time to fill the bag and almost not cutting grass

Well it could be your blade on the mower, over the years i have had to profect my blade sharpening skills.

sometimes when a blade is shapened its not done correctly causeing a lack in the blade tossing the grass properly and more or less turning into mulch on the lawn.

You should have your blades on a push mower if used once a week through out the season sharpened once a season then

if you have large amounts of rocks, sticks and pinecombs then 2x a year

if you only use it here and there then ushally ever 2 years is good.

another issue could be the engine bogging down when going over heavy or wet grass. this is no fun..

what I do with my lawn mower is clean the bottom and spray it with PAM cooking spray has been far the best solution, spraying the bottom of the deck and blade.

Now saying that if you try this method then remember no wet grass so dont over water your lawn.

some people like to use POR 15 on the under side of their mowers as well but I havent tryed this yet but hear it works great.

so there is ways to prevent slow and no discharge into the grass catcher.

hope this helps but yes I would say clean the underside of your mower and have you blade sharpened by a professional. dosent cost much and so much more worth it.
