Tip & How-To about Microsoft Windows XP Professional

If you have a problem using a cd (if it loads slowly and if it yakes a long time to runs the programs) I would recommend to copy the whole cd on to the hard disk and install or run from there. If you have nero then copy the cd to a cd image so that the cd image will run like a normal cd!

If this doesn't copy even then maybe the cd is dirty so try to clean it under a low power water current and use a bit of soap and then wipe thoroughly with a soft towel(hard towels can scrap the cd) and after making sure there is no water drops you can use the cd!

my girlfriend just gave me a copy of rosetta stone on cd but when i try to load it,it brings up a whole bunch of iso files and no way to install the software is there a program i need to install it properly

An iso file is the format used for a cd/dvd. Example: If you create a digital copy of a cd/dvd, it will be in iso format if done correctly.

How it sounds to me, is that your girlfriend copied the cd wrong. Sounds like she created a iso image and just put it on the cd as a file, instead of making a true copy of the cd.

To work with iso images you need to install a program like "Alcohol 120" to create a "virtual drive". Load the ISO file into it and it pretends you are using a real cd-rom. Pretty self explanatory once you have the program installed, tad hard to explain.

disc does not run when inserted

Just try to find another computer with optical drive and copy the whole CD content to a flashdrive, it might be the optical drive on your computer is broken or dirty or the CD itself might need cleaning. After you copy the Whole CD into a flashdisk, direct the dialog to your flashdisk! Good Luck!

to solve:

try installing from copied version could work

copy whole installation cd into sepearate folder and run installation from harddisk.
