Hi again!

I'll repeat the solution for everyone's info:
When "Out of Range" error message appears, it means the time and date aren't set correctly! You have to set the correct time and date for the device to function.
To do this:
  1. Press Menu until “Machine Setup” appears.
  2. Press the scroll buttons to display “Date & Time”, then press Enter.
  3. Enter the correct date and time using the number keys (date format: month, day and a 4-digits-year).
  4. Select “AM” or “PM” for 12-hour format, using the # or * keys.
  5. Press Enter when done.
PS: You are kindly requested to rate the chat session we had recently. Thanks!

How do i change the date and time on the devise?

Press MENU until "Machine Setup" appears on the top line of the display. Press the scroll button ( < or > ) to display "Date & Time" on the bottom line and press ENTER. Input the correct date & time using the number keypad. Month = 01 ~ 12, Day = 01 ~ 31, Year = requires all four digits, Hour = 01 ~ 12 or 00 ~ 23, Minute = 00 ~ 59, To select AM or PM in 12 hour mode, press * or #. Press ENTER when finished. My office has the Prostar 816 phone and the manual is not detailed at all.. I needed to know how to change the time (due to time change) Our manual says #55 etc etc... Help me please!

To change the time on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down, enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
1) enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming2.gif)
2) enter in #55 the screen should say YYMMDDWHHMM
3) enter in the year, month, day, day of the week, hours and minutes(the day of the week values are 1= mon. 2= tues. etc.)
press # when finished.

This should take care of it for you.

NOTE: The current date and time are displayed on the LCD when the machine is ON and ready for use (Standby mode). The date and time are printed on all faxes that are sent. When the machine is installed for the first time, the LCD will prompt for the date and time to be set.
  1. Press the [Setup] button on the Control Panel. 'Fax Number / Name' will be displayed on the LCD.
  2. Press the left or right arrow button until 'Time / Date Setup' is displayed, then press the [Start / Enter] button to access the Time / Date Setup menu. The LCD will prompt you to select a Date Format.
  3. Press the [Start / Enter] button.
  4. Press the left or right arrow button to select the required date format, then press [Start / Enter]. The LCD will display the currently set date and time using the selected date format and prompt to set the month. The cursor will be under the first digit of the month and the number will blink.

NOTE: If you select USA, the date will be displayed in the format of Month-Day-Year. If you select Europe, the date will be displayed in the format of Day-Month-Year.

  5. Enter the correct date using the numeric keypad on the Control Panel. Each time you enter the appropriate number, the LCD will prompt for the next item to be entered in the following order: month, day, year, hour, and minute.
  6. Enter the correct time in 24-hour format using the numeric keypad. For example, enter 22:30 for 10:30 P.M. If an invalid number is entered, the LCD will not proceed to the next step. Re-enter the correct number.
  7. Press the [Start / Enter] button to save the setting and return to the Standby mode. The LCD will display the date and that has been set.
