There seems to be a great deal of confusion about programming universal remotes. The facts are as follows:
The code MUST come from the manual that came with the remote. The manufacturer of you tv or other electronic device has no idea what the remote control maker used for codes. They have no way of knowing.
If your code or brand is not in that book, and the remote has no search or learn mode, forget it. It will never work. That is why you should go with a good name brand, like Sony, etc.
If you lose the manual, they are almost always available on the manufacturer's website.
If you can't get it to work, return it for a refund and call the manufacturer for the original remote. It will cost you more, but eliminate a lot of headaches.
