fan and compressor not running

hi this sounds like your defrost timer is stuck on defrost, but if it is so then it should restart automatically.if it doesnt and it didnt defrost the ice either then it could be the heater;t/stat as well.i assume motor and cond/fan is off.if so try turning defrost timer manually first.good luck ali

ED5NHGXMQ00 stopped working overnight. Ice maker

Clicking could be a bad starter relay if the noise is coming from the back under the unit where the compressor is. check it here Check your compressor relay- http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/check/compressorrelay.php
The clicking could be coming from a fan, one of which is near the compressor under the unit and another is in the freezer behind the rear cover inside.
The defrost timer could be clicking. This sound would come from the fridge. If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat.
You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

Kenmore 52532101 side by side freezer and refrigerator not cooling - any suggestions? Doesn't appear to be frozen up.

Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
