It could be the crt cooling fluid in the tubes. Over time they can become cloudy and discolored, making your picture appear different looking than originally.

Check your coaxial cable connection and inspect it wiggle it while the set is on if the problem clears replace the cable. Check to see if the male connector that sticks out the back of the set isint loose to the point where it moves when you touch it. If it does you need to have it looked at by a tech usually this problem can be solved with a little soldering but could get more complicated. Depending on the age of the set the fluid in the CRT's gets old and cloudy and light cant shine through it makeing your picture appear fuzzy. Your local tech should be able to change the oil in your set. Finally you could have some bad filter caps but I doubt it.

Need to fix the color and screen

Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos. instructions, etc.

Thats a very strong possibilty the phosphorus may be burned off the CRT face. Does the blue project when powerd up and looking in from the raer of the set? Look into the blue CRT lens while its playing If you can see a clear picture I would think that you have some open resistors in the blue circuit, If you cant see a picture its time for a CRT. If you need a CRT let me Know I have a good source for them Used.

Mitsubishi 65809 65 in Blue color and center screen fuzziness

Projection TV's use a cooling fluid around each of the 3 CRT's that the light has to shine through. Over time, it will grow a bacteria in the fluid (just like sunshine on the ocean) and turn cloudy. The blue CRT is most subject to this. You need to have the fluid replaced, which can be a messy job better done by a pro, but many have done it themselves. If you are interested, I'll go into the details.
Might want to replace the convergence amps while your at it.
Hope Ya Fix It!
