Rebuilt starter on ranger tested good on bench but just spins on TRUCK won't engage flywheel

If your sure bench test was good and bend ex is not sticking, assuming it is your starter I would say your flywheel ring gear is missing or worn teeth. try rotating engine by hand a quarter revaluation and trying starter again.

Took my 99 Sunfire to Pep Boys because the starter was busted. After changing the starter, for which they had to disconnect the battery. The car would not start. They said the battery was bad so they changed that. Still would not start. They then said that the key was bad and and I needed to get a new key with a coded resistor on it. After consulting with the local GM dealer I was told that the 99 did not have a security coded key that the pass lock sensor was built into some type of a sensor. Need help, which is true and can the security system be by-passed?

first , find an accredited shop that knows what they are talking about as you are being led by your wallet
the first check in any good shop is a load test on the battery, clean and tighten the battery terminals , the pull and bench test the starter , then repair / replace as necessary
removing the battery activates the immobilizer so it is necessary to reset using a scan tool
From your statement , none of those things were done so the shop has little knowledge of repairs
the system can be bypassed but I consider it not necessary if proper procedures are followed

I have lost the security code for my kenwood cd receiver. The model is KDC-MP4033S. Serial number is KE1202U0900623.

Hi,

Unfortunately Kenwood Radios can only be decoded on a bench and must be connected directly to specialist software. They cannot be decoded via serial alone. There is however a special procedure that can be used to bypass the security on these units using a master code 5227 (KCAR) which I will outline below.
