Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

When computer being stubborn, and freezing up try this quick way out!!

By pressing Ctrl ALt Delete at the same time for about 3-5 seconds you can restart, shut down or log off computer. This will help when your computer is not responding, and you have really important stuff to attend to. Leaving no time to mess with a un responsive computer. While pushing these make sure that you press the Del button not backspace this does make a difference. If this function does not work it may mean that it has been manually changed to other keys. I'll give later tips on how to manually do this also, so stay updated!!

how to unlock computer

If Error Message Says the Computer is Locked by User
1

Press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" on the keyboard to unlock the computer.
2

Type the username and password of the user who last logged on to this computer. Click the "OK" button when you are done.
3

Wait for the "Unlock Computer" dialog box to disappear. The computer has now been unlocked.
4

Press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" on the keyboard again and log on normally by typing in the username and password.
If the Error Message Does Not Tell Who Locked the Computer
1

Attempt to shut down the locked computer through the server computer. You will have to use the Shutdown tool in the Microsoft Windows Resource Kit (see Resources for download link) to shut down the computer remotely.
2

Wait for the "System Shutdown" dialog box to display the locked computer. Although the dialog box appears, the computer will not actually restart.
3

Wait until the "Welcome to Windows" dialog box appears on the locked computer.
4

Press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" on the keyboard before the screensaver becomes active and log on normally by providing your username and password.
