I have an Acer Aspire V5-123-3634.I seemed to have forgot, my password how can I reset it without going back to factory setting? please help me tks

that would depend on if it is a bios password, an operating system password, etc. If it is an operating system password a program called 'Ophcrack' can retrieve all your operating system passwords. Here is the link to all the info on the program:

www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=ophcrack

Unfortunately a bios password is much more difficult.

i am forgot bios password in my lenovo g550 laptop.can i reset it ?

Hi,
Are you the one who set up the BIOS password? If not, unfortunately, there's no way for us to retrieved the password. The only way you can reset the password to default settings is to reseat the CMOS battery on the motherboard, its a circular thing that looks like a battery of a watch, sometimes a pin hold it, just detached it then wait for at least 30 minutes then connect it back again,
Note: Before you reseat the CMOS battery, make sure that everything is unplugged on the computer, like AC adapter, battery and all external devices...
Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...

probably best to go back to square one reformatt and install the operating system yourself where you will have a chance to set a new password your engineer should have given you the password--its the only way

Bios password

Two things. Try to remember the password, or you will have to get into the laptop (take it down to the motherboard) and see if you can take out the battery for awhile then place it back and see if it resets it.
