How To Randomly Change Your Windows Desktop Background, Automatically!

Windows 7

Windows 7 comes with a builtin Desktop Wallpaper Changer, and can be enabled by following these steps:

  1. First, make sure you have desktop pictures in a folder that can be randomly displayed.
  2. Right click on your desktop and select Personalize.
  3. At the bottom of the Personalization window, select Desktop Background.
  4. Each picture from the selected folder will have a checkbox next to it. Select each picture you would like to see randomly (at least 2).
  5. Select the Wallpaper Change time, and check whether or not you want the pictures shown in order, or shuffled.
Windows Vista & XP
  1. Download and install Wallperizer, or Wally, both of which are free applications.
  2. Open the program you just installed and set a folder with pictures that can be randomly displayed.
  3. Set the picture display timeout, and any other options you see fit.

cant change my wallpaper iv checked all the settings and its not there

you can try this if you are using a windows 7 operating system.

Right-click on Desktop and make sure "Lock Web Items on Desktop" option is not enabled in "Arrange Icons by" menu. If its enabled, then disable it and your problem should be solved.

if the above doesnt here's another quick fix for this

open registry:-start>>run>>regedit(you can type in the start bar even)

1. Open regedit and goto following keys one by one:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies
HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies
2. Under these keys, if you see "ActiveDesktop" key, delete it.
3. Now Look for "System" key under "Policies" key. If you find it, then select it and look for a string value "Wallpaper" in right-side pane. If it exists, then delete it.
4. Restart your system and you should be able to set the wallpaper.

i beleive this should work.................have a great day
google_protectAndRun("ads_core.google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);

i cant set a desktop backround for the hp mini laptop

You have windows 7 starter or vista starter i am guessing , which means there is no option for changing the background, it has been disabled.

It can be enabled though through various hacks
click on this
Stardock MyColors

download it and To use it, find a jpg wallpaper you like, then run Starter Wallpaper Changer as administrator (right click onb the file and click run as administrator). Select your jpg file, and change. Then log off, and log back in. Simple!

how to change the wallpaper in dell mini 10' inspiron

1. Download the Oceanis Change Background (http://www.sevenforums.com/attachments/tutorials/42272d1272912523-desktop-background-change-windows-7-starter-oceanis_change_background_w7.zip)
2. Open the downloaded ZIP file and extract the Oceanis_Change_Background_W7.exe file to your desktop, then run it to install it. NOTE: You will be prompted to restart the computer to finish installing this program.
3. When your computer restarts, you will see this as your desktop background. Click on the Oceanis Change Background Windows 7 shortcut to change your desktop background. (see screenshot below) 4. Browse to the images that you want to use and check (select) a image, or more than one image to have a desktop slideshow. Select the Picture position for how you want the images displayed, and any desktop slideshow settings if you selected more than one image. (see screenshots below) NOTE: These options are just like the default ones in the other editions of Windows 7 here that are now being allowed by this program by Oceanis for the Windows 7 Starter edition.
5. When done, click on Save changes.

i cant put a wallpaper

As you have not mentioned the Operating System, let me provide the general information.

But, please do not worry, I'll also provide you the alternate options.

In all the Windows Operating Systems, the Desktop Wallpaper can be changed by using the Display Properties option.

The option to change the Wallpaper is only not available with these Operating Systems:

1) Windows Vista Home basic.
2) Windows 7 Home basic.

However, here's the key.

You may change the Desktop Wallpaper by using any third party Applications.

This also applies to the Windows Vista and Windows 7 Home Basic Operating Systems.

I have mentioned one such Application below:

You may download the Wallpaper Changer Application from the below link.

Hope this helps.

Please feel free to ask further questions.
