Tip & How-To about Dell 962 Photo All-In-One InkJet Printer

Most Printer issues are from Drivers, folks

I'd strongly recommend that you consider doing the following if your printer is unhappy:

Unplug from your computer.

Turn off printer.

remove old drivers through control panel/printers

Most of the CD's shipped with printers are obsolete within a month or two of their ship date.

Reverse sequence above.

Try it you'll like it.

lexmark X5470 printer will not print, it will copy thats all. i even reinstalled program.. printer is 15months old.

Hi,
In this case I will recommend doing a complete uninstall of all the Lexmark software install on your computer. Make sure that once you have erase all of the lexmark software then restart the computer. Also unplug the printer from the computer. Then go to the following link and download the latest driver and install it. You will get to a point where it will ask you to connect the printer to the pc or laptop once all that is done then everything should work fine.

Hello wapeta,

It looks like you may need to reinstall the printer driver.

HERE is a link to download the driver.

You may want to do a clean install to avoid conflict with other software during installation.

Clean boot/install procedure:

1. Unplug the printer from the computer. Later you will be prompted by the software to plug in the printer; do so at that time only.
2. Open the Windows Control Panel.
3. Open the Add / Remove Programs window.
4. Locate the listing for the old driver and remove it. When prompted to remove the printer drivers files, click Yes.

The following is the procedure for a 'clean boot'. I am assuming that you have XP. If you have a different OS, just let me know and I will send you the appropriate procedure to boot clean in that OS.

1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG --> Click OK
2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
3. Uncheck Process SYSTEM.INI file
4. Uncheck Process WIN.INI file
5. Uncheck Load Startup Items
6. Click on the Services tab
7. At the bottom, check Hide All Microsoft Services
8. Uncheck all boxes in the window or click the button labeled Disable All
6. Click OK
7. Click Restart

After restarting, reinstall the downloaded software. Next , do the following:

1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG--> Click OK
2. Replace checkmarks in the items that you previously removed them from.
3. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
4. Click OK
5. Click YES, when asked to restart your computer

Hope that helps...Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
If it hasn’t, please do not assign a rating just yet. Please post back as to what steps you took, results, etc, and I will try to assist you further as best I can. I am here at your service.

Thank you for using FIXYA!

Cheers!

Tv will not come on, I keep trying the remote and it won't turn on. Tried to turn it on on the set and that did not work either. There is a blinking light that says stand by. Just can't do anything. Help!!

oy, vey..sounds like ye olde Sony is tremendously unhappy. Ok..follow these steps.

1. unplug the tv, and let it sit for 2 to 3 min to ensure that all the charge is gone from the set and circuit boards.

2. turn off remote, comletely

3. Try manual mode with the buttons on front of set.

Blinking light usually means that there's something amiss on control board inside.

Are you the kind that will do this yourself, and is unit under warranty, by chance?

hmmm..sounds like a truly unhappy printer..unplug from computer...power down printer..wait 5 min..power up again..see what it says on panel..if it does not power up, then you either have a bad power supply or a bad control board internally

you have a warranty on this item?
