One of the most common errors in Windows is the USB Device NotRecognized malfunction. Thankfully, this is not in any way poses athreat to the security of your system though sometimes it may causeyour system to "hang" or experience delays. The USB Device NotRecognized error simply means that your computer cannot distinguish theUSB device that is inserted in one of the USB slots of the computer.
There are different reasons why one's system gets this error. Asidefrom the attached devices at the USB slots, it is also possible thatthere is a malfunction in the host controller hardware. Moreover, thecomputer may not support the USB 2.0 that's why this error pops up atthe screen. There are also some system configurations or hardware thatare experiencing glitches as well.
But you can try different ways to resolve this error so that youwould not have to deal with the pop up message "USB Device NotRecognized".
If there is any connected USB device, gently unplug it from theslot. It might be loose that's why the error appeared. Wait for acouple of seconds before you plug the device again. Make sure that itis secured at the port.
You can also use the Device Manager so your system can scan and lookfor the new hardware. Open the Start menu then choose Run. Typedevmgmt.msc at the box then clicks Enter. Once the Action menuappeared, choose Scan for Hardware Changes. It will allow your systemto look for newly installed devices.
But if these techniques didn't resolve the error, you can tryunplugging the USB device from the port before shutting down thecomputer. Don't open it again immediately and wait for at least twentyminutes or so. However, if you still can't seem to fix the USB DeviceNot Recognized malfunction you may need to update your driver instead.You should know the website of the manufacturer so you will check outthe latest about the driver information. It would just take a couple ofminutes before you can get the updated driver information so you canstop the error from appearing from time to time.
