Tip & How-To about Office Equipment & Supplies

How to install the driver or installer for a printer without the CD.

For starters identify the Model and Make of your printer. Go onto the companies website and search for the printer you have. Once you find the it, look for the downloadable software or support option for you product. Once you click this the company should give you the option to download the latest software available for your printer. Just select your operating system and language.

how will i know the sound card of my pc? i have it reformat. now i donno how to identify my sound card..

Many name brand companies will supply the common component drivers on their website. If you look up your system model then you should at least be able reduce the number of cards you are looking for.
There are various freeware packages that claim to identify the unknown devices, but I find sifting through a handful of drivers from a manufacturer website is much faster and more reliable.
If the computer was custom built then their should have been provided software discs or information to identify the card. On board sound cards can also be identified by visiting the motherboard manufacturer website and searching for the board model. A list of drivers is typically available and even more refined than common manufacturers of systems.

I lost the directions. Can I get them online?

Yes, most printer companies have the documentation on their websites. Find the Brand and Model number of your printer, then go to the Manufacturers (Brand) website and search for your printer model. The websites usually list the models along with links to get the associated documents such as user guide, parts lists, owner manuals, etc.

how to download driver

The best source is the manufacturesr's web site, typically under SUPPORT.
Be careful when you google it and you get lots of "unknown" driver sites other than the manufacturesr's. These are ussually full of spyware. It is prudent to avoid them.
Good luck
