It randomly turns of by itself and sometimes doesn't turn back on for awhile. The last time it did it I unplugged it and left it alone for about a day or so. When i turned it on it worked a full day without problems but the next day it did it again. Any suggstion to what is going wrong with this tv.

i had the same problem and still do ive owned mine since 2005 the people of RCA told me to leave the thing turned on as much as possible so i just turn the volume down and leave the tv on when i go some where( unless im going to be gone a couple of days) or go to bed

The green light flashes for 2 minutes and screen goes light blue

You have a defective power supply, most likely faulty electrolytic capacitors on the power supply board. The board can be repaired, I fixed one for a friend, it took 2 new capacitors $0.90 each.

There are many things that can go wrong with electronics: power supply (or cord); capacitors "pop"; resistors break from heat; soldered connections weaken; volume/on/off/ other switches and controls can get carbon build-up; and the list goes on. I would think almost any TV repair shop would at least look at it for you, and tell you if it is something they can do. It is a pretty easy matter to narrow the problem down.

tv wont stay on channel

This TV actually has bad buttons I've seen many of them, usually those switches never go bad but on this tv they do. The easiest thing to do is remove them, and use the remote, who uses those buttons anyway. You can slide out the circuit board and you will see the small switches in front if you can solder just remove remove them if not you can cut them out just be careful none of the pins remaining in the board are touching one another.
