Tip & How-To about Office Equipment & Supplies
On Ricoh printers, the configuration page (also called the Config page) is an information page that can be printed out with detailed data about the machine's status. The Config page shows the printer's copy count, various network settings, and current firmware versions, among other things. One nice feature of the Config page (on most printer models) is that it shows how much toner is left in the cartridge or bottle, so you can find out if you'll need to order more soon.
Follow the steps below to print a Config page from a stand-alone Ricoh printer.
A. Turn the printer on and wait for it to warm up.
B. Press the Menu button.
C. Scroll through the list of submenus using the up and down arrow keys until you see List/Test Print, then hit the OK button.
D. Look for the Config Page option, and hit OK again.
The configuration page will print out, and depending on that specific printer, it might be two pages rather than one. Whether the printer is black and white or color, the configuration page will be printed in black and white. If you want to print a test page in color, scroll further down the List/Test Print menu and you should see something called the Color Demo page.
To print a Config page from a multifunction Ricoh printer (one that scans and copies as well as prints), the steps are similar, but some of the machine's buttons are different. Multifunction printers typically don't have the Menu button, so you would press User Tools instead and then go to Printer Features. From there, the process is pretty much the same as described above.
