Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Here is how to connect your Windows 7 installed notebook to an external display

Most of the notebooks that were manufactured in the past two-three years come with a HDMI port along with the old VGA port to connect your computer to an external display. Connecting and activating an external display on a Windows 7 machine is pretty simple.

Here is how to connect your Windows 7 installed notebook to an external display:
1. Connect your Windows 7 laptop to the external display using VGA or HDMI cable.
2. Then, switch on your Windows 7 laptop and also the external display.
3. Once Windows 7 is up and running, type Mobility Center in Start menu search area and hit enter to open the same.
4. If you have connected your Windows 7 machine to the external display properly, you should now see Display connected text under External display section of Windows Mobility Center. To use the connected external display, click Connect Display button. You should now see your Windows 7 desktop in the external display as well.
5. Use disconnect button in the Windows Mobility Center to disconnect the external display. When the display is connected and active, use Windows + P keys to quickly switch between these displays

Being that your TV is only two years old,it is very possible that you may have one or more of the following,VGA,SVIDEO or HDMI..If you have one of the following you can connect to your computer(HDMI IS YOUR BEST OPTION IF AVAILABLE)

What tv cables work with HP 6510b please?

You will need standard HDMI only if your laptop have HDMI port. I think hp 6510b not include HDMI port. It has VGA and SVEDIO Output. Your toshiba TV have many PC INPUT Ports such as
S-Vedio, D-sub , VGA like old Desktop PC connection with Projector). So buy VGA cable or S-vedio Cable, then you can connect.

How do I connect my Laptop Acer 5735 to my TV Sony KDL-40NX700, what kind of connection cables do I require?

If Your TV and Laptop have HDMI Port then you just need a HDMI Cable.
But if you dont have HDMI port. then you need two cables one from video and one for audio.
For Video you either VGA Cable(if you have VGA Port in your TV) or VGA to RCA Cable (Yellow Pin will be for video)
For audio You Need 3.5mm pin to RCA (white and Red for audio).
This pic is of VGA to RCA Cable

I want to connect my Fujitsu Lifebook N Series laptop to my HDTV using a VGA cable, but cannot get it to work. I have windows xp on my computer. I have tried using the display properties, settings but it doesn't seem to work. When I change the source on the HDTV it says no signal. Can you help?

One HDTV is New Technology. XP is OLD Technology.
Like putting a square rod into a round hole. HDTV's generally have HDMI ports that communicate with other HDMI electronics. You are required to have an HDMI Cable for connecting these devices. Computer in the 2018 era have HDMI ports. OLD XP Computers do not.
