Tip & How-To about Video Game Consoles & Games

PS3 YroD

DO NOT!!! send to 3rd parties for repair...If you have some electronic knowledge do it yourself maybe cost you about $80-100(tutorials are avail. just google and be careful not all are legit)..If not Contact Sony and please pay the extra $20-30 for a warranty makes life a lot easier for all of us and will save you the consumer in the long run.Peace Johnnie B(gamer-ex-hacker)

I down loaded the latest update and now i cannot play games or blue-ray movies. I talked to support and all they tell me is to send it in and it will cost me $99.00 for them to fix it

This is the 2nd most common problem with PS3's. This isn't a bad problem. Your laser/lens will need to be replaced. Do you see the time clock in the top right corner going around and around? If so, you are just having laser/lens problems. If you would like to perform this task yourself, you can access youtube and search for 'ps3 laser disassembly.' I personally wouldn't recommend it. Find yourself a good reputable ps3 technician and pay them the money rather than SONY.

If you do not see the time icon spinning when you insert a disc, your PS3's Blu Ray drive controller board has gone bad and you will need to send it to Sony and not a

3rd party technician. Certain problems are only repairable by Sony. Good luck.

lost clasp to my new watch. where can I get one?

Skagen is very good about doing repairs and very reasonably priced for a replacement clasp Send your watch directly to them. Because of the mesh band on most of their watches a 3rd party repair shop will only send it to them and end up costing you more money and more time.

Here is the repair form-

not touch sensative

In 90% of the cases it's the digitizer (the touch sensor that is mounted in front of the screen). You can try to replace it yourself or send it to a third party gps repair service.
