Tip & How-To about Video Game Consoles & Games

If your console won't turn on.

Steps you should check if your gaming console won't turn on.

  1. Check the Power adaptor, in most situations your cord might have been dislodged and needs to be reconnected firmly.
  2. Check the Wire, for any breaks, cuts, or rips. Because if any of these are there, you will have to replace the cord because it is dangerous to have open cables hanging out.
  3. If none of these work you might want to ask an expert technician to assist you.

ac adaptor blinking orange. Xbox360 won't power up.

An orange light is illuminated on the power supply for one of the following reasons:
  • The console is turned off.
  • The power supply is disconnected from the console.
  • The power supply cord is not fully inserted into the power socket of the console.
  • The power supply is faulty.
  • The console is faulty. (The console might be faulty if it does not turn on when the power supply light is orange.)
Step 1: Try to connect and then disconnect the power supply

loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry'); Follow these steps to connect and then disconnect the power supply:
  1. Turn off the Xbox 360 console.
  2. Disconnect the cord that connects the power supply to the console.
  3. Reconnect all the cords, and then try to turn on the console.
if after this also your console does not power up then you need to check if you are seeing any flashing red lights on the power button of Xbox 360, if you see the red flashing lights then you would have to get your power adaptor replaced by calling up MS Customer Support.

If you do not see flashing red lights on the console power button in that case the console itself would have to be send for repairs

Please do rate my solution, Wish you Happy Holidays and Happy Gaming

Slimline PS2 Power Problem

What do you have to hold down, the cord from the adaptor to the machine or the cord from the plug to the adaptor? Did you get a shock when you first tried holding the cords down? The cords are pretty thick and the insulation should not peel off at all unlees you are also twisting the cord. Also if you lay the console flat instead of using the stand the problem may clear up, because you won't be twisting the cord.
