Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet
First I made a set of (2DVD)System DVDs to recovery this machine making the reinstall process easier after the battery reset is completed.
Tools you will need are ....
small philips screwdriver
Remove all power, both battery and ac power pack,
Turn laptop over on to its lid,
Remove cover from bottom of laptop exposing the motherboard,
There are 4 small screws holding this cover on here,
the battery is soldered onto the pcb in the corner,
it has a small blue plasitic ring surrounding it,
Turn the lap top around so the battery is next to your stomach,
With my hot soldering Iron, I heat the join on the right hand side of the battery until it melts then I gently pull away the battery leg from the pcb.
At this stage you must pay special attention to the leg of copper track attached to the other end of the battery,
this does not penetrate through the pcb as its a surface track,
too much heat will lift this track and make the track unreusable or broken ,
leave the battery to sit for approx 1 hour before soldering back on to the board and fit the power and restart the laptop.
Ok upon restart the start up screen has flashed up ok,
noticed the BIOS screen has also recognised the recent BIOS change too
Now we are ready for a system reinstall ,
Change your boot options to start from CD rom & we are back in business
Set BIOS to boot up from the CD/DVD first.
Insert System DVDs made earlier,
Shutdown and restart and the system dvd will now install a new OS.
The system will prompt you for the next disk when it ready,
This reinstall should take approx 45min,
I hope this helps everyone ,
Please Rate Me Thanks ,Cheers Misterdj
