What to do if you want to start a corrupted win 98?

If ur Win 98 system has been corrupted, means only the windows 98 screen appears and then a blue screen appears or after that the system dosnt start or restart follow the following steps:

1. at the time of POST (i.e when u hear the beep sound or when ur monitor shows the first displays) press the F8 key continuously . then select the option Start in Command prompt only
2. in command prompt type C:\>cd windows\sysbckup ( assuming c: is ur system or root directory)
3. then type c:\windows\sysbckup>dir *.cab
4. now select the file depending on the date closest to the date when ur system was operating fine( the file name will be like RB001.cab )
5. now after selecting the file type in the command prompt c:\>windows\sysbckup>copy rb001.cab ..(assuming the file name as rb001.cab)
6. then type c:\windows\sysbckup> cd\
7. then type c:\> extract rb001.cab/e
8.now restart ur pc

blue screen problem

Hello Anonyous ;)
Like you posted the detailes information that caused the Blue screen is stored in those files ...
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\080614-21840-01.dmp C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-41433-0.sysdata.xml

If the blue screen happend recently , it might be due to a defective driver and/or an corrupted update...
You might try to do a system restore and chose a date Before those blue screen started appearing...

Lenovo X60 Laptop blue screen error wont boot up

Try to go into safe mode by pressing F8 as soon as you turn on the laptop.

If you get into safe mode then go into system restore and choose a date when the laptop was working properly. Let it rollback to that date and reboot the computer and let it go and see if it goes back into windows.

If you get a blue screen even when trying to go into windows then the operating system is corrupted and you'll need to do a factory restore on the laptop, meaning the hard drive would have to be wiped out and the operating system put back onto the hard drive.
