Tip & How-To about Cell Phones
I wrote this in an answer for someone else and figured I'd share it here as well since this can be one of the worst unexpected problems ever to face. Usually it's our most expensive phones that this happens to but this trick works for all phones.
The first thing you want to do is NOT TRY TO TURN IT ON. Keep that baby off like its life depends on it. It does.
Take everything out: the battery, memory card, etc and again, do NOT TURN IT BACK ON!!!!! Keep the cover off of the phone too.
Get a big ziploc baggie, put lots of uncooked white rice in it and fully submerge the phone in it as well as the battery. Seal that baggie up and then wait 5 days. Then when that time is up, wait one more day. I mean it.
This will save the phone. If you pull it out sooner, you could fry your phone. I know you don't want that to happen at all as phones are way too expensive. Guard your baby with your life; do NOT turn it on until at LEAST 5 days have passed. Do you really need to see that email/txt so badly that you'll risk frying your phone? ;)
Wait the 5 days and one more if you can. The rice trick works amazingly.
You WILL have rice residue in your phone. It's nothing a few days of shaking won't dislodge; but your phone will work. Now 3% of phones still won't work; hopefully you've insurance for it if that's the case.
