Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Time will reset everytime I start my Pc after power off

This problem can be fixed very easily, There will be a CMOS BATTERY in the motherboard (Coin sized) , Once you replace this battery with a new one, your problem will be fixed.

This problem occur if the CMOS BATTERY has became weak, It cannot store the time so every-time you start the computer after power off your time will be reset or the time will be changed.

Once the CMOS BATTERY is replaced with new one, it will work perfectly.

Every time when i restart the system my Time is changing so how can i fix this problem

1. There is a coin sized battery present onto your motherboard, which is used to remember your computer CMOS/ BIOS settings as well as date and time.

2. If the system time keeps changing when your computer is turned off and started back, this indicated that your CMOS battery in your motherboard drained out of its charge.

3. Open you computer cabinet and locate the CMOS battery. Replace it with a new one similar to this.

4. Restart your computer and set the time once and it will be retained forever without any problem
I hope this is helpful to you.

low battery alert at start up. must always type

The only battery in a desktop PC is the CMOS battery. This is a 10c sized silver disc that is held in a plastic black clip on the Motherboard. It can be clipped out and easily replaced. they are 3.6v and somewhere like Radio Shack etc. will have them.
