the belts keep busting. i check the roller brush and it moves easily with out the belt. why do the belts keep busting?

1) could be the belts you are using are not for that particular model.

2) depending on what you are vacuuming, a rug on the floor for example with tassels will always break the belt when it gets caught into the roller brush.

I just bought a new belt, put it on, took two swipes, smelled burnt rubber again. My new belt broke. Why?

The beater bar is probably not turning. It get's jammed up with hair and strings and Christmas icicles and anything else on the floor. Taking the bar out and cutting all the stuff off is the easiest way to clear it. Make sure it turns freely before you hook the belt to it again and watch it when you turn it on to see if it's turning.

Have a Eureka "the boss" smartvac, won't pick up anything when I try to vacuum carpet. Any suggestions on how to fic this problem?

1st) make sure your yellow dial at the top by handle is in floor position
2nd) make sure your brush roll spins when handle is reclined in operating position. (disengage brushroll control by flipping the "switch" towards you)
3rd) check belt to make sure it is not broken
4th) check the brush roll for debris caught in it
5th) check lower hose

My Hoover Deluxe Rewind Elite will not pick up anything. My daughter got something caught in it last night and it made that noise when you get something hung. We turned it off but today it will not work. Is there a reset button?

When you are saying "today it will not work" do you mean the motor runs, but the unit will not vacuum, or are you saying nothing happens when you try to turn it on?

If the motor run's, the belt probably broke. You will need to remove the bottom of the vacuum part that rolls on the floor, get a replacement belt, and install. Check your owner manual for directions and belt part numbers.
