Tip & How-To about Vacuums

Vacumm maintainence

Vacuums should be carefully clened and the filters checked or changed as well as the belts no less than once every three months. unplug vacuum when working on them they are fairly east to work on. the most common promlem are clogged filters or debris not allowing the roller to turn freely which then puts a load on the belts and motor. you will have to learn how to take your brush roller out to do your own maintainence at home. iots not that hard are usuallyonly takes a phillips screwdriver or maybe a stardrive bit you can but at the hardware store. good luck.

My Shark vacuum is making a weird noise how to fix it

HI, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum!

If your Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum is making a loud noise while it's on then there's definitely a clog somewhere. Here' s a few places you should check prior to plugging in the vacuum and turning it on.

The first place to check would be the brush roll and belt. If you notice visible debris, like strands of hairs, or long carpet fibers this could be catching on the brush roll and causing it not to turn fully. Be sure to clear this debris from the brush roll and manually spin the brush roll a few times after you do so to help unearth and any other clogs. This may be the reason for the noise and its crucial that this part of your vacuum is clog free.

Another part of your vacuum to check would be your hose. Detach the hose and stretch it out as much as you can to see if any debris or clumps of dust are stuck inside. Using a broom handle can help if you see a clog, but it won't come out after you've stretched out the hose.

Another big factor would be a dirty filter in your vacuum. Most manufacturers recommend you change your filter on average every 3-6 months. However, it is recommended to change your filter even earlier depending on usage and allergy care. The cleaner your filters the less debris will get stuck in your vacuum, causing less clogs and overall less odd noises while vacuuming.

bissell proheat 2x troubleshooting

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

There are several things that may cause this to happen in your Bissell ProHeat 2x, like the brush assembly or the belts.

First, make sure the cleaner is reclined, or the brushes will not turn. If your unit is reclined and the brushes still do not run, check if there is anything tangled in your unit's brushes or if the brushes are damaged. Clear the brushes of any hair strands or tangled debris for their optimum performance. We recommend for these brushes to be cleaned and checked monthly and replaced once a year.

Next, unplug your unit and check both of your units belts. It is recommended for belts to be changed every 3 to 6 months, depending on the use of your unit. Belts can be stretched out and loose, causing the brushes not to spin properly.

brush won't spin on hoover wind tunnel bag less upright when on carpet, belts are fine

The belts may look fine but may be stretched and worn. Replace them. Make sure brush spins free. Idler pulley should tighten belt tension when handle is released

NOT PICKING UP OR SUCTIONING AS WELL AS IT DID WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED IT.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
It would be my suggestion to change the belt and to clean off the brushroll. A suggested belt change for a flat belt is every 4 to 6 months depending on the use of the vacuum, and if you have a geared belt (with teeth) then the belt change is once a year or so depending on use, check the hoses to make sure they are clear and clean the filter or change the bag, this should take care of the problem. On you next request please specify the brand name & model #. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
