how do i delete things of my computer screen icons & apps

to delete the program you want to go to control panel and either add & remove programs or programs & features depending on operating system. If they are just shortcuts on the desktop and you still want the program you can highlight it and either right click and choose delete or highlight it and press shift & delete and choose yes.

Hello shh_ayaz73,
to "Delete" Genuine Microsoft Software, from the "Desktop."
Right click, on the the software, in the 'Shortcut Menu,"
select 'Delete'
Next, click on the [Yes] button.
This will 'delete' the software from the Desktop!

*Note: If you didn't, or do not want to "Uninstall the Software / Program?"

"Then the Genuine Windows {Software}, will remain in the "Program Files, in the computer.
A 'message' will appear after you 'delete' the software, verifying the fact!
Now; if you want to "permanently delete the "Software?"
Then you need to "Uninstall the Program."

These are the instructions:

icons on desktop appeared and are unwanted

You can delete icons on your desktop by clicking on them, and pressing "Delete." This will only delete the shortcut icons, not the program themselves. To uninstall programs, open your computer's "Control Panel" and click "Uninstall Programs."

windows fefuses to recognize and open programs on my computer

THis is happening when the program that patronize the shortcut is no longer existent in the system ...or the location was changed ...Just delete all short cuts that does that ...and make new ones from the start /all programs ..or for programs installed in a different director (folder) and not in C/program files.. just go to the installation location and make a new short cut..
If my computer and my documents ...and the other original windows desktop icons make the same ...just delete them ..than ..right click on desktop ...choose properties..than desktop ...here you will find customize desktop ...and in there just tick all cases for icons you want on desktop ...This action will place again the original icons on desktop ..For the rest just make new shortcuts from the original execution of the program ...

Was deleting unnecessary programs off home computer and may have accidently deleted a program but not sure what it was. The problem is whatever I deleted does not allow me to update any programs such as Adobe, Java, Itunes, etc. Can you help advise and point me in the direction to where to go to download the program I may have deleted? Thanks.

Best Bet:

Try going to Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore

Go back to before you began removing the programs. Also, remember whenever removing programs always use the uninstall feature, just deleting them can leave a lot of junk in your registry, cause possible corruptions and lead to sluggish PC performance.
