Tip & How-To about Mozilla Firefox

Save ALL website passwords on Firefox and backup to XML

METHOD 1

One of the best ways to do this is first permanently enable user ID and password Auto Complete on all websites to do this you can edit the following file this will allow all websites including Windows Live, Nectar and many more that until you do this java script modification can't be auto-saved

Then open the file in a free JavaScript Edtior this a a good one to useis from Yaldex however there are many more just google js editors http://www.yaldex.com/Ready/freejse.zip

Locate the following lines of code (around line 805 -807 in Firefox v3.6.3), and the comment out the lines by adding // (double slash) in front of the lines.

After editing, save the file and restart Firefox browser, and now all passwords can be saved regardless of the website settings if you are not upto editing JavaScript then download the modified file HERE on my Public Sky Drive and save in place of the original

METHOD 2

Then download and install the Password Exporter XPI Developed by Firefox Add-ons remember to Obfuscate to increase security and if required WinRAR 3 it to an archive file with a strong password for extra security.

This is a great tip for backing up passwords to copy onto other PC's using Firefox or for complete Firefox browser reinstall it is also a good idea to use a master password set this in the Tools Options Security TAB make sure that you use a strong password as shown below of at least 6 characters.

Another great add-on by Daniel Dawson, not relation, is Saved Passwords XPI it not only allows you to edit saved passwords by adding an Edit button it adds the New button to the existing menu

If you click New then it will open another window to enable you to create new passwords for those sites that Firefox doesn't ask on of the following at the top of the browser window;

Here is how it deals with our very own FixYa Login screen via a WebForm

You need to decide whether you want it to Guess from the Current page in the current Tab, use a Web Form, HTTP Authentication OR just a simple username and password for the selected host.

This example is for the SKY Broadband Sagem F@ST Router this is set to HTTP authentication

The Host is the URL that you type to access the Router Panel the HTTP Realm is the type in Brackets for Info only

If you also incorporate the Secure Login XPI you will not only be able to activate JavaScript Protection it will automatically search for login data and highlight the form fields so all you need to is type the first character OR it will be there already for you if you have saved the details previously.

login my itunes account

Nowadays, I believe that all users must actually have an AppleID to use iTunes, which is different than a password for iTunes. In other words, I used to sign into iTunes using my iTunes user name and password, but somewhere along the way, I was required to acquire an AppleID instead. An Apple ID is your user name for everything you do with Apple: Shop the iTunes Store, enable iCloud on all your devices, buy from the Apple Online Store, make a reservation at an Apple Retail Store, access the Apple Support website, and more.

I cannot tell by your question if you already have an AppleID and forgot the password for that account, or if you're trying to use your old iTunes account and forgot that password. If it's the latter, I don't think your old iTunes user name and password would work anyway. But I could be wrong.

If it's the former, here are the instructions for resetting your AppleID password (copied and pasted, obviously!):

If you forgot your Apple ID password Can't remember your Apple ID password? Try resetting the password. If you forget your Apple ID password or don't know it, choose from the following options to reset your password. After resetting your password, you'll be asked to sign in with your new password when you or your device accesses an Apple feature or service that uses Apple ID. If you know the answers to your security questions
  1. Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
  2. Select "Reset your password."
  3. Enter your Apple ID, then select Next.
  4. Select "Answer security questions" as your authentication method. Select Next.
  5. Select the birth date associated with your Apple ID, then select Next to begin answering your security questions.
  6. After answering your security questions, you'll be asked to enter and confirm your new password. Select Reset Password when done.
If these steps didn't help you to reset your password, contact Apple Support.
If you have access to the email addresses associated with your Apple ID
  1. Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
  2. Select "Reset your password."
  3. Enter your Apple ID, then select Next.
  4. Select "Email authentication" as your authentication method. Select Next.
  5. Apple will send a password-reset email to the primary address or verified rescue address associated with your Apple ID. Didn't receive the email?
  6. Open the message and select the link to reset your password.
  7. When the My Apple ID page opens, enter and confirm your new password, then select Reset Password.
If these steps didn't help you to reset your password, contact Apple Support.

If I missed the mark on your question, let me know, and I'll try to help some more.
