Tip & How-To about Office Equipment & Supplies

HP 3310 printer ink system failure fix.

This is a fairly simple procedure that usually fixes the ink system failure problem.

-HOLD down the OK, Cancel, Black and Color buttons all that the same time while turning the unit off.
-Turn it back on, and it should turn itself off.
-Turn it back on again.
-It should start doing some calibrating that can take several minutes.
-After that your printer should be working again.

Thank you and enjoy this tip,

Hold the number 9 key and the key down at the same time, then pull the power cord. Then put the power cord back in while holding the 9 and # key. You will lose your settings, but the ink system failure message should go away.

error code 0xc18a0406 ink system has failed,

The OK-cancel-black-color procedure is to be done when turning the printer **OFF** not on.
Then when you turn it back on you'll see "NVRAM RESET" (or something like that) on the display.
It might take a couple of tries.
This is a fix if the problem is not a hardware failure. This same "ink system failure" error also displays if there is a hardware failure and this cannot be corrected with the button/power off technique.
Good luck.
