Blackberry - Unable to receive email but able to send.

(For Blackberry Enterprise Service only)

Verify if the folder redirection is set up correctly.

Please follow the provided steps and verify that the Inbox is selected to display:

1. With the BlackBerry, go to the Messages screen and click the trackwheel.
2. Select Options, and then select Email Settings and click the trackwheel.
3. From the Email Setting screen, click the trackwheel and choose Folder Redirection.
4. Select Mailbox-Your Name and click the trackwheel. Choose Expand from the list and click the trackwheel again.
5. Use the trackwheel to navigate your folders; click the trackwheel to select the Inbox folder.

Note: this steps are in general and may not have the same UI for newer version of Blackberry but the concept is the same.


If this did not do the trick next will be re-sending of service books and IT policy.

i cant manually activate my blackberry pearl I went to options, mobile network but all it says is roaming.


See if this works....

-Press menu key
-Click OPTIONS
-Select Mobile Network
-Click on "START PROVISIONING"

It should give you a message saying: PROVISIONING COMPLETED SUCCESFULLY.

You wont need a MSL code if you do it this way.

my rollerball is stuck on my phonebook icon and will not let me see any of my other apps or menu items


In this case you need to follow certain steps given below:-

To perform a full backup of the BlackBerry smartphone data complete the following steps:
  1. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer running BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  2. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  3. Click Backup and Restore.
  4. Select Backup to perform a full backup.
  5. Select a location to save the backup file, and then click Save.
To perform a selective backup for one or more databases perform the following steps:
  1. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer running BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  2. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  3. Click Backup and Restore.
  4. Click on Advanced.
  5. Select the database on the right side selection window for Device databases.
  6. Select the Arrow that points to the left side of the screen to transfer the database to include in the backup.
  7. Verify the database are on the left side selection window for the Computer databases.
  8. Click on File in the menu located at the top left hand side of the Desktop Manager.
  9. Name the backup file and select a location to save the file.
  10. Click the option to Save once the location for the file is selected.
To Download the Blackberry Device Software follow the steps:-

1) Click the BlackBerry Device and Desktop Software link.
2) Click the Download BlackBerry Device and Desktop Software link.
3) Select the appropriate software from the drop-down list and click Next.
4) Click the Download link.
Please verify with your service provider before downloading any of this software to make sure it is compatible with your BlackBerry Device Software.


To delete all data from the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

Lock the BlackBerry smartphone, and then type an incorrect password ten times.If prompted, type blackberry. Once complete, all data on the BlackBerry smartphone is deleted.

Still if it is not working it might be a Hardware issue you need to contact your service provider for further details.

password was entered incorretly 3 times now it says wiping all data. now says scrubbing


As a security feature, the BlackBerry device is designed to allow a maximum of 10 attempts by the BlackBerry device user to type the correct password. After the tenth attempt, if the correct password has not been typed, all data is erased from the BlackBerry device in order to discourage its theft or misuse. If you are certain that the password you are typing into the BlackBerry device is correct, please complete the following steps.
  1. Deliberately type in an incorrect password five times on your BlackBerry device.
  2. Before the BlackBerry device allows a further attempt, you will be prompted to type the word blackberry in plain text.
  3. Instead of asterisks, the text you have been entering for the password will now show in plain text. Check to verify that it is correct
  4. If the password is still being rejected by your BlackBerry device as incorrect, connect the BlackBerry device to a computer that has BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed
  5. A prompt will appear in Desktop Manager to type the password for the BlackBerry device. Type in your password to rule out missed key strokes, incorrect symbols, or a problem with the BlackBerry device
  6. If the password you have given is still rejected, and your BlackBerry device is on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server that has software version 4.0 or greater, contact your BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administrator and request that your password be reset for you.
If you are not on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server and have forgotten your password, there is no way to have the password changed without wiping all data from your BlackBerry device.
