my hp pavillion tx1320us is powering up but the screen remains black

try to turn off the laptop. Remove the cables and battery on the pc. Press and hold the power button for 8 secs. Then reinsert the cables and battery on the pc. Turn on the laptop and check if the screen still black. If it is, make sure that the monitor power light is on. Otherwise, there might be a problem on the video card. If you know how to reseat a video card, go for it and here is the step by step, instructions:

Turn off the laptop, remove the cables and battery, remove the screws at the bottom part 4 corner sides, remove the hard drive, remove the optical drive, then remove the video card and reinsert it. Then reinsert the other peripherals in descending order.

If still did not work, call HP and have your video card replaced...

i have a HP Pavillion dv9500 series. One night i tried to watch a rent movie, at the first 10 mins of the movie the screen frozes, alt+ctrl+delete doesn't work so i pushed the power button and then when the power is on again the screen is blanck. no bios info, no motherboard info nothing... how can i solve this?

If the Computer turns ON and the CD/DVD drive gets power then first, remove the disc from the drive. Then, turn off the Computer, disconnect the AC Adaptor, remove the Battery pack and clean the metal contacts on the Battery and in the Battery compartment.
Next, press and hold the power button on the Computer for 30 seconds.
Then, reinsert the Battery pack in the Computer then connect the AC Adaptor and turn the Computer ON.
This will resolve the issue.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
