I want to install windows7 from original c.d but when i insert c.d and press f12 nothing is happened there simply current windows is being start.. what i have to do plz help me.....

You must first make sure that your boot up mode is set to read the player first.
The button varies with computer manufacturer, but is usually F10. It can be F8 or F5 or even F2. Check your manual.
Restart your computer and press F10 whilst starting.
If that doesn't work, try the others one by one.
When you find the one that works, set the boot mode to start at your dvd/cd drive.
Then insert Windows 7 and restart the computer. Should install now.

  • Turn your computer on and insert your Windows XP professional CD in the CD/DVD reader. Monitor the screen and press the key necessary to enter the "Boot Menu," usually F8 or F12. In the "Boot Menu", select your CD/DVD drive and press "Enter."

  • 2

Press any key to boot from the CD when prompted to do so. From the "Welcome to Setup" screen, press "Enter". Accept the license agreement by pressing "F8."

  • 3

Select the Windows installation you want to restore and press "R." You will usually only have operating system to choose from. The system repair install will proceed automatically.

  • 4

Click the "Start" menu after the installation process is done. Click "Run" and type "sysdm.cpl" before pressing "Enter."

  • 5

Select the "Automatic Updates" tab and click "Automatically download recommended updates for my computer and install them." Your computer will install the updates that were lost when you repaired your Windows XP Professional operating system.
