Why do some of my Flip Video cameras have file extension of .wmv and my new HD Flip has a file extension of .mp4

They're just different types of video files. Flip was recently bought by Cisco, and they probably switched it after they got bought. Most video software will be capable of opening both.

USB Unplug Crash!(for a Flip Video Camcorder Mono HD)

this happened to me a few days ago, what you have to do is hold down the off button for 20 seconds. This technique is called hard reset, so it should work if you do that. :)

Is there a phone number for Flip Technical Support? I've had my Flip Mino HD less than a week, and am getting nowhere with e-mailing Tech Support over a defective product. The Credit Card compnay says I can process a dispute/charge-off, but I wanted to give Flip a chance. Anyone got a phone number for them?

The tech support number is 415.445.7626 and then option 2. I just spoke with Kevin, the floor supervisor and he was less than helpful. My brand new minoHD simply won't work--not very impressed with this camera, and I hope Cisco hasn't made a huge mistake...

Take out the battery and leave it out for 48-72 hours. I had the same problem and Flip support suggested this solution which fixed the problem.
